Type-It

"Type-It" replicates the action of a typewriter exactly. When you type a letter on the computer keyboard, it prints out on the printer. Any style of paper may be used, so full typewriter emulation is there, including back space editing and deletion. According to Winn Schwartau, Kaypro's director of corporate communications, "'Type-It' may seem minor, but it's a major breakthrough to the user. For the first time, without any instruction, anyone who can type can sit down at a Kaypro computer and operate it exactly like a conventional typewriter."

In addition, an electronic memory typewriter mode with a more advanced 11 line memory-writer capacity is included. According to Schwartau, "'Type-It' will have people using computers before they have a chance to realize they don't know how. We are offering the novice a chance to get used to computing at his own pace. He can work up through the three levels of 'Type-It' and be ready to jump into WordStar in a few days. Gone are the days when a new computer sits idle while someone learns how to run it."
