Kaypro Corporation, leading microcomputer manufacturer, today announced a new business product which is sure to be hailed as being the most creative marketing endeavor in the last year. The Kaypro Business Pak offers the small to medium size business all of the hardware and more than 90% of the software it will ever need in one complete package. Seeing a need in the ever-widening business marketplace, director of corporate communications Winn Schartau stated, "The Solution was obvious to us. Computer customers don't want a lot of choices. They prefer to be handed a package that will solve their needs. That way they can think about their business, not their computer. But it takes a company like Kaypro, with the economy of scale working in their favor, to be able to offer a product as unique as this." The Business Pak includes a Kaypro 2X computer with nearly 800K (400 pages) of storage, the Kaypro Letter Quality printer, printer cable, word processing software, spread sheet programs, data bases, operating systems, programming languages, and games. As unique as the Business Pak is Kaypro didn't stop there. They also include a new program called "Type-it," which will completely eliminate the need for a typewriter. Since it is still extremely cumbersome to use a printer for labels, envelopes, or forms, "Type-it" allows even the most naive computer-phobe to sit down at the computer and operate it exactly like a conventional typewriter. The program also includes an electronic memory typewriter mode and a more advanced 11 line memory-writer capability. According to Schwartau, "'Type-it' will have people using computers before they have a chance to realize they don't know how. We are offering the novice a chance to get used to computing at his own pace. He can work up through the three levels of Type-it and be ready to jump into Wordstar in a few days. Gone are the days when a new computer sits idle while someone learns how to run it." The Business Pak is available at Kaypro dealers nationwide and retails for $1895.

The BUSINESS PAK which retails for $1895 comes with word processing software, spread sheet programs, data bases, programming languages, telecommunications programs, a 300 Baud modem, and Real Time Clock, TypeIt, and games.

The JUNIOR BUSINESS PAK is planned for small businesses, universities, cotage industries, writers, and students, the JUNIOR BUSINESS PAK once again succeeds in providing value that no other company can compete with: a total word processing system for under $1500.

The JUNIOR BUSINESS PAK comes complete with Kaypro's NEW 2 (which has 390K on a single double-sided, double-density disk...nearly three times the capacity of an Apple IIe or IIc), the Kaypro Letter Quality Printer, the cable and bundled software. An upgrade kit is available for $495.

The software you receive with your JUNIOR BUSINESS PAK is worth over $1295 alone. The package contains WordStar, the industry standard for word processing excellence, The Word Plus, a spelling checker program, and Mailmerge, which allows personalized form letters. Type-It, which is included with all BUSINESS PAK choices is an exceptional program (exclusively with Kaypro's BUSINESS PAK series) which allows the printer to be used directly as a typewriter.
