Kaypro Corporation, known in the industry for offering the complete small business computer, announces the addition of the Kaypro Letter Quality Printer to its line of full featured machines. Priced at $599.00, the Kaypro Printer offers features available on units selling at more than twice the price. The dimensions of the printer are 20.5" in width, 5.9" in height, and 14.2" in depth, and weights 27.5 lbs. The machine has a maximum paper width of 11".
The standard features include:
- A drop-in daisywheel print wheel and snap-in cartridge ribbon readily available from office supply stores
- 2 K buffer standard-expandable to 8K (4 typewritten pages)
- Standard character sets that include several foreign languages
- Industry standard Centronics-type interface
- 3 pitch range plus proportional spacing

Kaypro Page Printer I
Kaypro Corporation, the nation's fifth largest microcomputer manufacturer, will unveil its new non-impact printer, KAYPRO PAGE PRINTER I, at CONDEX/Fall in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 10-14.
The KAYPRO PAGE PRINTER I, which uses NEC LED-based technology rather than the conventional laser engine, has the print quality of the laser types, yet requires less repair and maintenance.
The printer has a rating of eight pages per minute, 5000 copies per month, and an average life of 300,000 copies between overhauls.
An 80186 microprocessor drives a standard 128 kilobytes of RAM permitting immediate "plug-n-play." With a Diablo 630 emulation mode, spacing available at 10, 12, and 17 characters per inch, as well as proportional spacing, the KAYPRO PAGE PRINTER I delivers letter perfect documents.
Priced at $2995, the KAYPRO PAGE PRINTER I has 300 by 300 DPI, a standard 250-sheet input hopper and a 250-sheet output stacker. It can easily handle letter size, legal size, A4 and B5 paper sizes as well as most standard envelopes. A manual insertion slot is available for single feeds of alternate paper types.
THE KAYPRO PAGE PRINTER I has a two-line by 16-character LCD display, which shows machine status, current font in use, possible system errors, and notification of maintenance or service needs.

Kaypro Page Printer II
In January, Kaypro will release the upgraded KAYPRO PAGE PRINTER II, which will retail for $3995. The KAYPRO PAGE PRINTER II will feature 1.5 megabytes of RAM, full-page bit-mapped graphics, HPGL 7475A Graphics Plotter emulation, and HP LaserJet emulation.
