My wiki:About
Kaypro Journal is my research notes about Non-Linear Systems, Kaypro and related information.
I first encountered a Kaypro in about 1984. There was one at my mother's work. It was the first computer I was allowed to use on snow days or during the summer time when I would occasionally go with her to her work. Then I got a Commodore 64 at home and eventually an IBM PS/2 Model 30/286.
I didn't return to Kaypros until about 2018 when I bought one to add to my vintage computer collection. Finding that I had more questions about Kaypros then there were answers on the internet I choose to start recording my findings. That has turned into this website.
If you have some good resources that don't show up on this website feel free to contact me at admin@kayprojouranl.com .
Items that I am especially looking for include:
- CommuniKays (employee newsletters)
- Newspaper and magazine articles about the machines and company
- NLS meters from the 50's and 60's
- Marketing photos
- Company photos
- Prototype machines, rare or odd machines and add-ons
- Software
I would like to thank a few great researchers and people that worked at Kaypro that have contributed the most to my research:
- Thomas Brase
- Don Maslin
- David Kay
- Allen Kay
- Marshall Mosley
- The members of the Facebook Kaypro Computer Users Group
