	Kaypro Corporation announced today the implementation of a unique system for providing dealers with sales leads. Known as "Kay-Lead." The system is designed to create an immediate response to end-user inquires while the potential buyer is still ready to purchase the product. According to Winn Schwartau, Director of Corporate Communications at Kaypro, there are inherent problems with conventional telephone inquiry response systems. "First of all, the average telephone operator doesn't know the product of the company," he states. An interested consumer typically responds to an ad providing a toll-free 800 number for further information. "That's not the kind of personal attention our clients deserve," Schwartau added. A lot of the information that's not in the ad can be simply answered by having our own staff of operators who are properly trained." The problems don't end there. 	<br>		The Kay-Lead system will solve these problems. Kaypro is setting up its own internal inquiry service with two sets of toll-free numbers, 1-800-9-KAYPRO for California, and 1-800-4-KAYPRO for the rest of the United States. The Kaypro staff will answer the phone for up to 18 hours a day, depending upon phone traffic. The operators will be trained with the basic sales information that satisfies many of the questions of first-time callers. "We expect some 15-20,000 calls a month beginning this July." The callers will be supplied with several dealers near their home of business and strongly encouraged to visit for a hands-on demonstration. The caller's name and address will be entered into a data base at Kaypro. The zip code of the callers will be automatically correlated with dealers who have similar zip codes.

			Once an hour, the sales leads will be fed to Kaypro sales reps who will call the dealers in question with the caller's name and phone number. In this manner, we can promptly respond to an inquiry in under three hours. "By getting back to a lead within a couple of hours of his initial contact, we have given him the confidence, right from the start, that he is dealing with a professional company. He is still in the mood to buy...and the call he made earlier is still fresh in his mind. He is ripe for the dealer...and eager to have his own needs satisfied. The Kay-Lead system was devised with everyone's best interest in mind." The Kay-Lead system begins operation o a national basis July 2, 1984 with a full staff of trained operators.<br>
